This section will show you the area just to the north of the Cathedral.  First, of course, there is the Domplatz, or Cathedral Square.  This large expansive square gives the only unobstructed pre-war views of the majestic Imperial Cathedral of St. Bartholomew.  Just off the Domplatz are the two medieval courts, the Köpplerhöfchen and  Hainer Hof, which for centuries was the Frankfurt headquarter for the Cistercian cloister of Haina, near Kassel.

Zunächst ist da der Domplatz. Dieser ausgedehnte Platz bot eine ungehinderte Vorkriegs-Ansicht der majestätischen Krönungskirche. Direkt in der Nähe des Domplatzes waren zwei mittelalterliche Höfe: das Köpplerhöfchen und der Hainer Hof, der für Jahrhunderte der Frankfurter Hauptsitz des Zisterzienser-Klosters von Haina (in der Nähe von Kassel) war.

The Domstrasse (Cathedral Street)(sorry, no pictures at present) extended north from the Domplatz.  This was the location of the Main Customs House as well as the Rebstock, a picturesque enclosed courtyard, market and guesthouse where the Frankfurt poet Friedrich Stoltze was born.  Connecting to Rebstock on the north, was Kruggasse (at least until it was separated by the building of the Braubachstrasse 1904-1908).

Die Domstrasse (leider haben wir im Augenblick davon kein Bild) dehnt sich nördlich des Domplatz aus. Hier befanden sich das Hauptzollamt und der Rebstock mit einem malerischen Hof, Markt und Gasthaus. Im Rebstock wurde der Frankfurt Mundartdichter Friedrich Stoltze geboren. An den Rebstock schloss sich nördlich die Kruggasse an (zumindest bis sie durch den Bau der Braubachstrasse 1904 – 1908 abgetrennt wurde).
