Fahrgasse was the most important north-south transit road through old Frankfurt, following the course of the ancient highway from the Friedberg Watchtower to the Old Bridge, and exiting the city at the Sachsenhausen Watchtower.
Die Fahrgasse war die wichtigste Nord-Süd-Verbindung des alten Frankfurt im Zuge des alten Verkehrswegs, der von der Höhe der Friedberger Warte ins Maintal hinabführte, an der Stelle der Alten Brücke den Main überquerte und zur Sachsenhäuser Warte hinaufstieg.
