(Linen Hall) & Stadtwaage (Weigh-House)
The building stood at the southern edge of the Weckmarkt
and contained the Historic Museum and archives. During the Middle
Ages, the house was used for the sale of linens and hemp. It was built in
1399, probably by the designer of the Cathedral
Tower, Madern Gaertner. It was destroyed during the second World War,
but rebuilt in 1982-83.

for the City Archives
