In this view, the building contained the city Archives and Historical Museum. Even in the 1890s, much of old Frankfurt had fallen victim to the passing of time. Many of the most important artifacts ended up in the Historic Museum that was established in 1892 here in the Leinwandhaus (Canvas House, 1399 - only the corner building is old).
Historisches Museum - Vieles war damals schon dem Zahn der Zeit zum Opfer gefallen, manche Bauplastik ins Historische Museum gewandert, das sich 1892 im Leinwandhaus (1399, nur der Eckbau alt) etablierte.
